2006 Renovations at AAMA, Wishart

During 2006 major renovations are occurring at the Australian Academy of Martial Arts, Wishart. These renovations are of a grand scale and are becoming very obvious now to members, parents and also traffic passing by!

The Australian Academy of Martial Arts, Wishart, has been established by Shihan Graham Keleher since 1972 (over 30 years!) and that doesn’t take into account the other (over) 15 more years experience Shihan has before this Academy was established! Students of the Australian Academy of Martial Arts not only receive very wholistic, fulfilling personal development programmes but have also enjoyed the Karate Academy’s purpose built sprung wooden floor with special matting on top of that to truly foster an environment that is considerate to safety and encouraging towards each student’s individual goals of success and happiness inside the Academy and in their personal worlds! The present renovations will be perfecting this environment giving students an even more authentic, culturally significant flavoured Martial Arts ‘Dojo’ (training hall)!

We thank you for your patience during our renovations of both our physical training Academy at Wishart and of this website - we look forward to all members reaping the benefits of a truly
5 Star Training Facility and Service!

Other Events during 2006

Efforts at the Academy are presently being distributed into our Development Programmes of all classes: The Little Leopards, The Dragons, The Samurai, Beginner – Intermediate Adults and Intermediate Adults and Above.

The AAMA Karate-Do Club Inc. held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 21st, 2006. We thank all those members that contributed their time to this event both in participating on the night and also to those who gave their support towards the night.

We look forward to Up-coming events both organised through the Karate-Do Club Inc. and also through staff of the Australian Academy of Martial Arts – Please keep yourself posted with our Website, through your Emails and Announcements in classes to be sure not to miss out events that are presently being organised!

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Australian Academy of Martial Arts Karate Do Club Inc.

Where: Honbu Dojo, Wishart

Date:

Friday, 21 July 2006
Time: 7:30pm approx. (after training session)

The Incorporated Club was established to support Shihan Keleher and the Branch Instructors with the development of our Karate. The Club’s support allows them to focus predominantly on the technical aspect of our Karate training and as a result, provide the outstanding quality of training and technical knowledge that we have available to us.

This is a great opportunity for members to have their say and influence what the club does socially and in a fund raising capacity. The Incorporated Club:

  • Conducts social activities throughout the year;
  • Purchases sports specific equipment to assist member’s training;
  • Funds technical development seminars, including visits from Fujimoto Sensei, the Founder and International Head of our Karate Organisation; and
  • Funds membership fees with the Queensland Karate Federation (QKF) and the Australian Karate Federation (AKF) so our members can take advantage of State and National level Competitions.

Everyone is welcome: Karate Members, Partners and also Parents with training Children.

Election of Office Bearers will include:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Social Events Coordinator
  • Branch liaison officer (1 per branch)
  • Committee members

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT YOUR CLUB BY ATTENDING THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

Your ideas are valuable please share them with us.
