“Respect” is quite a buzz word in society that seems to be lacking from generation to generation. The study of Respect, especially for children, is quite vast and incestuous between activities: at school, at home, in public, towards themselves, towards their friends, towards other children they may not like, etc. At AAMA, we pride ourselves in our fantastic Behavioural Management strategies and skills incorporated by our Instructors in our Children’s classes; In a very supportive, patient and fun environment, Little Leopards and Dragons are constantly encouraged and supported to be the best they can be not only in Karate Skills but in upholding a respectful manner. Karate is firstly considered a Behaviour; At the Australian Academy of Martial Arts, we believe that by encouraging positive behavioural practices, the children become stronger, confident citizens who develop a strong sense of pride in themselves and a empathy and compassion towards others.
In Term IV, the Children will be even FURTHER encouraged to uphold a respectful manner in society with our Children’s Module themed “Understanding Respect”. Not only will areas of Respect (towards parents, the self, siblings, those elder than them, belongings, etc.) be investigated in the Children’s daily practices, but also too other values of honesty, trust, empathy, collaborating, responsibility, helping, sharing and general answers of ‘good manners’.
As with all Karate classes for Little Leopards and The Dragons, classes will continue to include activities of ‘EDU-TAINMENT’ value
(fun education)! J Not a Module to miss, ‘Understanding Respect’ will end the year with a brilliant climax in the development of Children’s general etiquette, behaviour and interaction in society!
This area of study will work in parallel and supportively to the AAMA wholistic facilitation in developing: individually in behaviour; fitness; co-operation with others; relaxation; technical abilities; etc. These areas will be developed through:
- Incorporated karate games and technical activities to compliment their Personal Growth and Understanding of Self;
- Extremely fun Gladiator Games encouraging interpersonal development between the children;
- Continued exercises and understanding of relaxation exercises to calm and centre the children;
- Of course continue activities under channelled and disciplined behaviour management;
- Develop fitness this module specifically with: Strength of lower body, overall cardio-vascular endurance and general flexibility.
On top of all these activities that are developed in strategic weekly planned lessons with incorporated review weeks, the children will continue developing and understanding taking responsibility and accountability for their actions and practice that, importantly, will continually relax the family relationships and prevent conflict involved at home and school.
